Updates
Guidepost checks for updates in the background and downloads them for you. An update installs when you quit Guidepost or click Relaunch now, never in the middle of a service.
When an update is ready
Section titled “When an update is ready”A banner says, for example, “Guidepost 1.1 is ready. It installs when you relaunch, never during a service.”
- Relaunch now installs the update and reopens Guidepost.
- What’s New shows what changed.
- Later dismisses the banner. The update installs the next time you quit.
Update notices appear after you end live.
Check for updates yourself
Section titled “Check for updates yourself”Choose Guidepost › Check for Updates…, or click Check for app updates in Settings › License & About. Guidepost tells you whether you’re up to date.
To stop automatic checks, turn off Check for updates automatically in Settings › General.

If an update needs a newer macOS
Section titled “If an update needs a newer macOS”Occasionally a new version of Guidepost needs a newer version of macOS. Guidepost tells you when that’s the case, and keeps working on the version you have.
